As part of the StarTech innovation support project implemented by NALED in cooperation with the Government of the Republic of Serbia, the entire budget of the project, worth five million dollars, was provided by Philip Morris International (PMI). StarTech is a program dedicated to supporting innovative entrepreneurs funded by a private, socially responsible company.

The potential of be.on.net was recognized by Philip Morris International (PMI) who have invested resources in its improvement and further development through the StarTech project.

In addition to our own investments and the realized first phase of the pilot version of the be.on.net software tested in several factories, the second phase is being implemented through the StarTech support project through the analysis and validation of the achieved results.

The means of financial support will be used for the purpose of developing the be.on.net platform. The support of the StarTech grant will be reflected through the specification and development of new be.on.net functionalities, the redesign of be.on.net software in accordance with industrial requirements, the development and implementation of new techniques, the development of modules for other industrial branches, which, among other things, include marketing, the promotion of innovations and innovators as pillars of technological transformation, and the connection of science and economy.

The significance of the StarTech grant for GES is stable funding, focus on the development of be.on.net, expansion and strengthening of the team, engagement of production technology experts, penetration into new markets and highlighting of the GES brand.

The active 6SAVA project that Global Electronis Solutions (GES) participates is funded by the European Union through the Horizon Europe research and innovation program. The goal of the project is the adoption of technology and innovation, the establishment of cooperation between interested partners, the development of platforms and the latest technology in three countries from the “Widening” region – Serbia, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The project focuses on the strategic promotion of the results developed within the Horizon 2020, SixthSense project, with the aim of setting new standards in health monitoring, safety and efficiency for rescue operatives and workers in physically demanding environments in industry.

After the end of the first year, the project set up basis for a key collaboration between the industry, research and government sectors. The main frameworks of the project have been formed, the strengthening of the online presence and the development of demonstrators who presented the technology to a wide network of potential partners.

The main result of the engagement so far is the launch of the 6SAVA Technology Adoption Platform, designed to connect end users with customized services and innovative solutions developed within the Consortium.

The consortium will focus on expanding the 6SAVA platform and positioning it as a central place for technology adoption and collaboration. Key activities include piloting technology implementation, further aligning innovation with industry needs and the regulatory framework, strengthening partnerships to enhance the regional innovation ecosystem, and exploring funding opportunities for innovation.

Global Electronic Solutions (GES) as a company with high orientation to technological innovation proudly presents itself by participating in numerous successfully implemented innovation projects in the previous period, among which SixthSense (2020-2023) and SmartStim (2021-2024) stand out.

Significant results have been achieved in the scope of these projects, and we point out the originality of the products and services which emerged from the research conducted:

The main goal of the EU funded SixthSense project was to develop of a wearable health monitoring system designed specifically for first responders and firefighters operating in hazardous situations and environments.

The project is a multidisciplinary innovation and research action with the overall aim of developing a wearable health monitoring system with integrated tactile biofeedback, that allows first responders in hazardous situations to sense their current health status. It allows the early detection of risk factors that could lead to rapid deterioration of health or operation capabilities of first responders, by leveraging predictive models based on multimodal biosensor data. As a team management tool, it enables real-time monitoring of all deployed operatives, helping increase team effectiveness and operational safety.

The concept of the SmartStim project, funded by Innovation Fund of the Republic of Serbia, is also based on the health-humanistic principle. SmartStim is a system that restores natural sensory feedback from a foot to patients with partially damaged diabetic nerves. Information from the sensorized insole placed under the foot is transmitted to the system controller where the information is processed, interpreted and used to execute biomimetic electrical stimulating patterns for artificial sensory feedback defined by integrated AI-models. The purpose-designed neurostimulator enables very precise control of stimulation parameters and high flexibility in the wireless control of stimulation over custom designed electrodes embedded in wearable stimulating garment.

The European Commission recognized significant achievements in these projects and approved new additional funding through the 6SAVA project, to transfer and expand the developed technologies from first responder use case to industry 4.0 occupational health and safety.

The implementation of 6SAVA project started on February 1st, 2024, and lasts for 30 months. Our primary role in these projects is reflected in the development of new technology and devices that should collect and process multimodal data and provide sensational feedback to users through electrical stimulations.
